The Skilled Trades Training Fund
The STTF program has become increasingly popular among manufacturers who see this assistance as a key component in providing training to their workers. Based on the program's performance, Gov. Rick Snyder has proposed a $10 million increase to the STTF budget for fiscal year 2016. The number of companies using the STTF grants increased since 2014. This year, the program awarded grants to 94 West Michigan companies, up from 75 companies that took advantage of the state's $10 million in funding the previous year.
Take advantage of this program now by visiting Booth #62 at the Advanced Manufacturing Expo to talk with MiWorks and learn how to submit your company application. All applications need to be submitted no later than OCTOBER 1st 2015.
There are many places in Michigan to send your employees to for hard trades training including local technical schools, colleges, organizations, or the RightPlace.
